Florida Association
of
Christian Child Caring Agencies, Inc.

The Florida Association of Christian Child Care Agencies Inc., is a volunteer peer accrediting association of Christian children’s ministries. It was created in 1982 as a 501-C3 not-for-profit organization.

Its purpose is to provide accreditation for residential faith-based children and foster care programs, which choose to register with FACCCA in lieu of becoming state licensed. This religious exemption from licensing was created in 1984 by Florida Statute 409.176.

This Florida Statute requires exempt ministries to annually furnish information to the state on the number served, personnel qualifications and training, as well as proof of compliance with the published minimum standards of FACCCA.

As of January 2004 there are 31 accredited members and 4 associate member programs providing residential care for approximately 1,500 children per year.  This represents a savings to taxpayers of millions of dollars annually. More importantly these children have the saving grace of Jesus Christ exposed to them daily. Hundreds of children have accepted Christ through FACCCA ministries.

FACCCA homes and ministries care for abused, abandoned, neglected, medically needy children, and troubled teenagers. We provide homes for pregnant teens. The Good Shepherd Program finds Christian homes for babies born to mothers in state prison facilities.

FACCCA’s primary support comes from membership dues. It does seek gifts from individuals, foundations and churches to support the educational requirements of accreditation.

As you use this directory, keep in mind these

words of Abraham Lincoln:

“A child is a person who is going to carry on what you have started. He is going to sit where you are sitting and when you are gone, attend to those things which you think are important. You may adopt all the policies you please, but how they are carried out depends on him. He will assume control of your cities, states, and nations. He is going to move in and take over your churches, schools, universities, and corporations. All your books are going to be judged, praised, or condemned by him. The fate of humanity is in his hands.”
